This course takes you from zero to production-ready Rancher management. You will install Rancher on a K3s cluster, learn to manage workloads and cluster resources through the Rancher UI, and progress to multi-cluster operations, GitOps-driven continuous delivery, observability, and day-2 operations.
What You Will Learn
The course is organized into four modules that build on each other:
- Module 1 - Rancher Fundamentals: what Rancher is, installing it on K3s, and navigating the UI.
- Module 2 - Working with Rancher: deploying workloads, managing cluster resources, and installing platform apps from the catalog with Kong Gateway and Kong plugins.
- Module 3 - Multi-Cluster and GitOps: importing and managing multiple clusters, GitOps delivery with Rancher Fleet, and running the CI/CD loop against a Git server you own.
- Module 4 - Operations: observability with Prometheus and Grafana, logging with Loki and Grafana Alloy, security and access control, and day-2 operations like backup and upgrades.
Prerequisites
- Basic familiarity with Kubernetes concepts (pods, deployments, services, namespaces)
- Comfort with the Linux command line
